Ashton just got a huge swingset/fort thing (I don't know the official name!) for his birthday. We've been over there everyday since! It's so great that Jackson and Ashton get along so well. Jackson even loves to help Shane (Ashton's daddy) in the backyard planting trees! Anyway, Ashton and Jackson have a blast playing on the swings and the ramp and the stairs. Grayson even gets in the action a little! I think Jackson is dealing with some neighbor envy...okay, maybe his mommy is too!

The bluebonnets are almost past their peak so we decided to take advantage before it's too late! These are just wild flowers but it's Texas' state flowers. They mostly grow along the highways so it's hard to get out and take pictures. It's actually illegal to pick them. The bluebonnets are one of the great things about Texas! We stopped two seperate times - the first Grayson was asleep so Jackson and Jobe got out and watched the cars and looked at the flowers. The second stop was even better. We found a hillside that was covered with them but this time Jackson was in a bad mood so Grayson was our only model! I took a ton of pictures, once again, and got a really good chance to "play" with my camera!

We had an Easter egg hunt since Jackson's birthday fell on Easter this year. It was hilarious! The kids loved it and the weather was perfect (a little hot though!). I didn't think Jackson would understand the concept but boy was I wrong! I think his bucket had the most eggs! Even Grayson got in the action a little! Don't worry, I still don't let Jackson have candy so the eggs were mostly filled with fruit-snacks!

The cake! He had an ice cream cake...we tried to make him a cake but many of you know I tend to have cake issues. The ice cream cake was great! :)

Jackson had a great time opening his presents! He received a ton but the great thing is that he would have been so pleased after opening just one! I hope that quality stays for a while! He got play-doe and a huge bag of blocks, a numbers puzzle, a Herme (max lucado) book, a Boz dvd (he's very excited about this!), a lot of new underware (Elmo and trucks), a Leap Frog dvd, a bubble lawn mower, and an art "station". I think right now his favorite has to be the "bubble nonower" - that's how he says it! He wakes up and looks out the window and it starts..."bubble nonower, bubble nonower, bubble nonower..." and on and on until we let him outside!

So, I thought I would catch up on pictures before Jackson's birthday.
We've had a ton going on lately. The biggest thing is that Jackson is basically potty-trained! I felt like he was ready and it was time and it didn't really take that much effort. It's been one week and maybe he will have one accident a day. The accidents come when he is totally concentrating on something - like playing outside or watching a show or playing on his blanket. We can go out, as long as we are close to a potty, and be fine. It's a little stressful but we can do it!
Jackson doesn't get to watch very much tv but....A little plug for a couple of videos: Leap Frog has a phonics dvd series that really is incredible. Jackson has watched this 30 minute show (Letter Factory) a handful of times and knows most of the alphabet. He can recognize letters and knows their sounds (the hardest part). The other is Boz the Bear. Boz is a new character from the same creator as Barney and a great organization called MOPS. Boz is a Christian animal and plays with twins, Drew and Gracie. Jackson says "good night" to Drew, Gracie, and Boz on a nightly basis.
Anyway...we are gearing up for Jackson's little birthday party/Easter celebration. I'm sure there will be pleny of pictures after this weekend!

Yeah, we're cool!

Obviously these aren't smiles! Grayson gets a little frustrated when mommy is slow to keep food in his mouth! He definitely voices his concern!
