Trip with Daddy
A couple weeks ago Jobe took Grayson to Oklahoma to visit his mom. They played with the doggies and went fishing and tried to go out in the boat. The highlight of the trip was Grayson learning how to swim with his floaties. When you watch this video you wouldn't guess that just 3 or 4 days before Grayson would have a complete meltdown taking him away from the steps in the "deep" water. He would cry like his life was about to end. Jackson is definitely the leader in this situation and without him freaking out it was no big deal! You would think spending the entire summer in the pool might take care of this fear...nope, but it is getting better. Jackson is definitely more determined now that Grayson is "brave" and can swim by himself!

Pics of the new guy
I've had these pictures for a while and thought I'd better put them up before he comes - only 3 weeks left, hopefully!
You can pay extra for these type of pictures but I won a drawing my doctor had for a 3d/4d ultrasound session which was awesome because it can be pretty expensive! He really didn't cooperate though - not many pictures of his face. A lot of his hands, feet, boy parts...he wasn't shy about that at all! I might scan a few more that we have but this is about it!

Good To Know
Despite marketing claims, parents who want to give their infants a boost in learning language probably should limit the amount of time they expose their children to DVDs and videos such as "Baby Einstein" and "Brainy Baby."
Rather than helping babies, the over-use of such productions actually may slow down infants eight to 16 months of age when it comes to acquiring vocabulary, according to a new study by researchers at the University of Washington and Seattle Children's Hospital Research Institute.

I bet Julie Aigner-Clark is glad she made her millions on all of us before this study came out. Even more evidence you should kill your TV and read your kids a book, or take them fishing. Too many parents today are too busy with their "lives" to focus on their responsibilities as a parent. It's scary to think what that might mean for the next generation of kids.

Potty Training Grayson
I thought I would brag on Grayson a little bit...
We decided that we needed a little break in diapers before the baby comes and that it was time for Grayson to become a "big boy" and wear some undies. So, two weeks ago we told him no more diapers. Most of you know that Grayson is a little stubborn and has his own agenda most of the time. He does adjust well to change though. When we took his paci away he was fine (he actually lost it so we didn't have a lot to do with it) when he threw his blanket in the trash (again, this was his own doing since he chewed on the corners and it permanently smelled like a wet dish rag) he was fine. We tried several times before to get him on the potty but he had his mind up that there was absolutely no way.
WELL, the first day was rough, to say the least. But, he woke up on Tuesday and realized we were serious. We spent all day Tuesday dishing out M&M's and doing the "poopy dance" and sure enough he "got" it. That was it. He was basically a diaper-less 2-year-old in a few days. 2 weeks later...he is starting to stand up, he goes in public places, and very minimal accidents, oh and still requesting the M&M's.
We are so proud of him. He can be such a stinker and is so so stubborn but if he knows you're serious he will come along. SO, we have 4 weeks of no diapers! YEAH!!! Not long but 4 weeks is 4 weeks! We really thought this would be a multiple week, multiple month, long process....but, like always, Grayson is a champ. And, of course, Jackson has been his little cheerleader the whole way. He "helps" so he can get his share of the loot as well!
I put some pictures of Grayson up...to celebrate his walk into "big-boy hood" and show off his personality a little!
