FYI...We are taking Grayson to the Children's hospital in Ft Worth on Tuesday for an upper GI test. He is still being medicated for reflux and we want to make sure that it is completely necessary. It seems that the Zantac isn't helping him like if first did so before upping the dosage again or changing to something stronger we want to be a little more informed. The test isn't a big deal - he will drink some barium and they will take a series of xrays to see what his tummy is doing and to make sure nothing else is going on. Hopefully we can get it figured out - he isn't sleeping well and on top of this he has really bad allergies. Poor guy! At least he isn't hurting on the weight side of things!!!

Grayson had his 4 month appointment on Thursday. He weighs 16 pounds and is 27.5 inches long. (99% compared to all other 4 month olds) Yes, he is a big boy. For some perspective....At 6 months, Jackson was 26 inches long and 18 pounds. I guess Grayson isn't the "little" brother after all.

The cutest cowboys!

We were at the mall and went into a Texas shop and thought this hat would make for some great pictures! We still need the boots and belt to complete the image...maybe someday I will let them be Texans (just not ever Cowboy fans :))

It's been a while

I know it's been almost one month from our last post but I do have a good excuse! We've had a busy month, to say the least. We are moved into our new house and have almost all of the boxes unpacked. There are still a few here and there but I don't think it's anything too important. It took Jackson a few nights to adjust - he didn't want to take a bath because it wasn't his bath tub and sleeping in a new room was a bit scary. :) Grayson is doing great. After he started on zantac for reflux he started to really grow. He went from the 50% to the 95% in one month - a big boy. He is starting to really engage with us and starting to show some of his personality. Jackson is starting to show is personality too...he is in full tantrum stage. It's great. He thinks he is talking to us and communicating what he wants but we can't understand the grunts and babble. He does have a little vocab growing though - outside, cheese, shoes, uncle rich, apple, door, boo are just a few. We have learned to spell talk, some of these words we don't dare say out loud! :)

A few days after we moved in we took a little vacation to Ft Collins. It was our first visit since we moved last October. We had a great time. The weather was awesome and seeing and catching up with our friends was even better. Ft Collins is truly home for both of us.

I posted a bunch of pictures below - to make up for slacking. I will try and get them all into the link to the right in a few days.

House Update

Well, we finally closed everything last night. We will pack up today and tomorrow, and move on Monday. It couldn't have happened any more last minute, as my job gets crazy in the next few weeks. We're excited about the new opportunities, and hopefully we can settle in for a while. Lyndsey is a bit stressed as you could imagine, with two boys in diapers.

We're hoping to travel to Colorado sometime next week to visit friends for a mini-vacation to end our summer.

We'll post more pictures soon!

My Chair

Jackson has taken over the baby chair, he loves to sit and watch movies.

That's Grayson's ear

Gramme came to visit, and the boys were so glad to see her!

Jackson can't wait for Grayson to get a little older, so they can play together. Right now, he loves to give Grayson kisses, and point to his ears, hands, and feet.

Awwwwwwww...

The boys

There are some new pictures of the boys in ofoto. (the link at the right)

Grayson already is getting so big and is doing so much better. The first 5 weeks of the little guys life was a little rough - for all of us. At his 1 month doctor visit we learned that he has acid reflux. He is taking Zantac and that seems to be working.

Jobe is out of town on business and I am home with both boys for the first time. We figured it's about time I experience the reality of staying home with both of them since Jobe will be starting his year in less than one month. It has been wonderful with him here but the "honeymoon" is over :) I am looking forward to this fall but scared also. Jackson has been so great in the last 6 weeks and I am thankful to be blessed like that. Hopefully the lack of Dad around won't change that!

We'll see if I'm this positive about Jobe gone by Tuesday night - it's only been 1 day :)

We found a house!

After one long week of searching, we finally decided on a house in Mansfield. Because of the time issue, the best option for us was a new home that was ready to go or a vacant home. Boy, that's a hard decision :) We looked at a lot of vacant ones but found nothing that we really liked. So on Friday we decided on a house that is actually in South Arlington but only a block or so from Mansfield. It is still in the Mansfield school district and in a good location for Jobe. The neighborhood is called Ruidosa Ridge - you can see a picture of the front by clicking on the link.

We have to wait until Monday to hear if they've accepted our offer.

Hang on...

The last year, or so, has been a whirlwind. It is a little overwhelming to think about all the transitions and changes that have happened - 1 major move, two job changes and two babies. It's the second job change that brings us back to a place we have become very familiar with. Yep, we are moving. Jobe's job requires a lot of time traveling in the southeast/southwest DFW area. Right now we are Northeast of DFW and a majority of Jobe's days would be extremely long if we stayed in Wylie. SO, we are looking for a house somewhere in the Mansfield area.

The house has been on the market for about 2 months - a relatively short time for the slow market down here. The ideal plan is to be moved and settled in our new home by the time Jobe starts the school year - by the end of August. But, as July 1st came and went, and we could still count the number of showings on two hands, we were getting less optimistic that any move would happen this year. We should have never doubted! We accepted an awesome offer on Sunday! Only one catch...we close on the 18th. Yes, July 18th.

I am not surprised. Our lives always seem to be crazy. My heart longs to settle into a community with close friends, somewhere we can just "be." Hopefully, we can get settled and plant some new roots. Either way, I know that all things work together for a reason, I just want to know the reason now.

So, here we go...I guess I'd better hang on.
